Xyclone Introduction

Xyclone, (born Roje Roman Robinson, November 2nd, 1987) is a Jamaican Reggae / Dancehall recording artist from Waterford, St. Catherine.  He acquired Billboard status with his sophomore album “From the Basement to the Big Leagues” in December 2016.  On June 27, 2017, the album earned the number 1 spot on the Billboard reggae chart.  Thus becoming the first independently distributed album in 8 years to earn the number 1 spot in reggae music.
Additionally, Xyclone has become the first independent reggae artist to appear on the Billboard Top 5 with 3 consecutive albums!  In 2018, Xyclone’s “2774 Waterford Parkway” album peaked at number 4.  Furthermore, in 2019 “The Year Of The Wolf” album peaked at number 3 on the reggae Billboard album chart.  This album features the chart-topping “Meck It Clap Remix” featuring Konshens and “It’s You That I Need” (which was produced by that legendary Bobby Konders Of Massive B sound from Hot 97).

The Musical Journey

Though doing music for over 8 years, Xyclone got his big break when he was introduced to the world by his mentor Spragga Benz at a show in Hartford, Connecticut (United States). From there Xyclone proceeded to tour the USA as a member of Spragga Benz’s label Red Square Productions.  Performing in over 42 of Americas 50 states and over 5 countries.  Including the UK, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and Chile.

As a Red Square artist, Xyclone’s first official single was “Back it Up” on the Audacity Riddim.  His first breakthrough single was “Top Shottas Anthem.”  A track dedicated to Spragga Benz and featuring former Portmore Empire artist Deva Bratt.  In 2012 Xyclone released “Back Pocket Rag.”  Which was quickly and heavily received by dancehall fans all over the world!  “Back Pocket Rag” was later remixed by Grammy-winning artist Beenie Man and his protege Cee Gee!
Xyclone also released successful songs such as “Woiii” and “It’s On” feat Kevin Lyttle, Red Rat, Delly Ranx and Deva Bratt.  All were distributed by VPAL a subsidiary of VP Records.
Xyclone released his first studio album entitled “The Xyclone LP” in 2015.  The LP peaked at number 13 on the iTunes reggae charts.  It featured international stars Spragga Benz, Beenie Man, Cee Gee, Gappy Ranks, and Red Rat among others, which was distributed by VPAL music.

Xyclone: ‘The Billboard Kid’

In 2016 Xyclone released his highly anticipated sophomore album, “From the Basement to the Big Leagues.” It debuted at number 6 on the iTunes reggae charts and peaked at 5.  A week after its release, “From The Basement To The Big Leagues” debuted at number 14 on the Billboard reggae charts.  In fact, it peaked at number 1 on June 27, 2017.  Xyclone’s first Billboard album featured chart-topping songs such as “Tell The Truth” ft. Star Cole and “How Yuh Bad Suh.” The later was remixed by Timomatic from Australia and has earned millions of views online.
In the spring of 2018, Xyclone released his “2774 Waterford Parkway” album.  It featured lead singles such as “Meck it Clap” produced by Epik Jones, “Trendsetta” and “Stay With Me.”  This album peaked at number 4 on the Billboard reggae charts.  It also earned number 1 and number 5 on the US & UK Reggae iTunes Charts.   Furthermore, it reached number 84 on iTunes Top 200 in America across all genres.
Soon after, Xyclone teamed up with Empire artist Konshens for the “Meck It Clap Remix.”  The smash single debuted at number 1 on reggae iTunes chart in the US and number 4 in the U.K.

In the Future

Having secured a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Xyclone has shown himself a full-rounded person.  One who can undoubtedly achieve great things away from the microphone.

With his resume’ boasting several commendable accomplishments, Xyclone looks to continue his run towards superstardom.
