This riddim is quite a special release for us for many reasons. One of those reasons the Ouji Riddim is special to us is because Ouji (pronounced oh-gee) is named after Dubee, Upsetta Records Co-Founder, firstborn son.
The name Ouji is of Japanese origin and it translates to Prince. The cover of the Ouji Riddim puts all that into perspective. The little Prince Ouji sitting on a royal throne with a majestic Japanese backdrop. This is a gift to the little prince from his father as well as the whole Upsetta Family.
The Ouji Riddim also represents the first time Team Upsetta and Grammy Nominated, Loud City Music have collaborated.
Burning
Upsetta Records is also very proud to welcome the very talented Koffee to the world with the Ouji Release. She is a brand new female vocalist at the age of 17 that has been getting a lot of buzz online, namely with her tribute song to Olympic gold medalist and fellow Jamaican, Usain Bolt called “Legend.”
We see a very bright future for her and are excited to be a part of Team Koffee.
Powerhouse Lineup
The album also features appearances by talented and seasoned artists such as Busy Signal, Jah Vinci, Chuck Fenda alongside Capital D, Delly Ranks, Jah Wiz, Lutan Fyah and Stephen Dajure. Dajure, a relative new-comer, has been building a buzz recently as well as up-and-coming artist Jah Wiz.
Also featured on the Ouji Riddim are musical legends Luciano and Grammy-winning reggae artist, Mykal Rose. Both veterans successfully bring their classic approach to round out the impressive lineup.
Ouji Riddim
We think this release has a lot to offer to every listener, regardless of your preference and feel it has the strength to reach a large audience within the reggae community and beyond.
