Kings Riddim | Winter is Coming
After nearly a year since their last release, Upsetta Records is about to have a huge end to 2020. Not only are they releasing their first-ever Dancehall riddim, Devil Works Riddim, due out by the end of the year. They will first be releasing a culture riddim, called Kings Riddim. The riddim is the brainchild of Upsetta Records’ co-owner Dante, who dedicated years to building and molding this riddim. Loud City Music joined the creative journey. They added their expertise and helped breathe life into the riddim. Which admittedly is one of Upsetta’s finest works to date.
“I created this Riddim based on my love of the early to mid 00’s reggae and dancehall. The thick bass line combined with drums that hit and bring me back to that time.” – Dante (Upsetta Records)
The Riddim
The moment the music hits, the listener is put on warning; what comes next is power. A catchy horn riff sounds the alarm and makes way for a driving bass coupled with a hip-hop beat that makes any lyricist or music lover stand up and take notice. The skank of a keyboard rounds out the sound and leaves the listener on the edge of their seat, waiting for the vocals to drop.
#WinningTeam
The riddim has two powerhouse tracks on it; one big tune from Agent Sasco and an incredible combo featuring Busy Signal and Capital D.
Jah Jah Children
Agent Sasco, who needs no introduction, links with the Upsetta again after the smash hit on the label, Winning Right Now. He brings his best once again on a track called, Jah Jah Children. The tune is a powerful anthem to the youth, an acknowledgment of the many obstacles that young people face and a reminder that anything is possible.
Fiery
Busy Signal ft. Capital D who have both become staples on the label, join forces on a massive tune that highlights the unbelievable flow both these artists have. The tune, which has a strong clash vibe, is called Fiery. The track is aptly named, with its high energy and rapid-fire lyrics, it sets any pair of headphones or speakers ablaze.
Kings Riddim is certainly among the label’s best work and will be available on all digital outlets, October 30, 2020.
