Jah Izrehl Introduction
Jah Izrehl, born Lloyd Watson on September 8, 1989, in Kingston, Jamaica. He is the first child of Lloyd Watson and Novelette Fletcher. He grew up in the sleepy district of Cromarty Grove in Spanish Town. He attended Jonathan Grant High School. While there, he was an avid participant in the school’s successful cricket programme.
The Journey
He showed an early love for music. After all, he had music in his genes as his uncle is the legendary 1980s deejay Little Twitch. His father’s older brother, was a big influence while growing up. When he left high school, he began to focus all his attention on music. He focused on fine-tuning his songwriting skills and perfecting his vocals. He began to grow his covenant during his last year of high school, and never visited a barber again. He began to immerse himself in cultural music, then worked with the Stir Gav Sound System for almost four years.
It was a meeting in 2014 with Navino (who was a member of the J.O.P at the time), and this helped to build his confidence as Navino recognized his Jah Izrehl’s talent. When Navino left the J.O.P, Izrehl even voiced a diss song, ‘Dem No Bad’ aimed at Aidonia and Diablo but the song lacked proper promotion
In 2015, Izrehl made a link with Bredroc Music head honcho, Audley ‘Breddi’ Allen through his son. He began to travel all across Jamaica with the popular reggae artiste Sophia Squire to major shows such as Rebel Salute and Reggae Sumfest. He also set up his own independent music label, Ashtro Music.
Experience and Discography
He began to work with producer-engineer Jovi Dupree and released a raft of new singles such as ‘Music ah Mad Mi’, ‘On My Way’ and the above mentioned ‘Better Dan That’, which has become a favorite of youtube downloaders all over the world.
Jah Izrehl continues to improve his craft while putting out quality reggae music that continues to draw attention. He is creating a buzz as one of the top upcoming artists in the industry and shows no signs of slowing down.
